A Very Special Offer

Our license to produce miniature annuals from the D C Thomson stable expires in October and we have decided not to renew it. We are therefore offering a very special offer on these annuals. Until the end of December (this includes our three month sell-off time) we have reduced the price of BEANO, DANDY, DENNIS THE MENACE, THE BROONS and OOR WULLIE, from £16 to only £10 while stocks last. These books are still a limited edition so when they are gone that is it and they will not be produced again.

To begin with this offer is only being offered to subscribers to our blog, existing customers and visitors to the fairs we are attending. In order to take advantage of this offer please e-mail us on www.dateman46@yahoo.com and we will send an invoice for you to pay through paypal, or if you prefer you can telephone us on 01934 632995 and pay direct with your card. You have a few days to take advantage to this before we list this offer on our web site and e-bay shop.

Don`t delay it is very possible that miniature versions of these annuals will never be available again!

New Books for York and Edinburgh

Ready in time for these two prestigious fairs we have two new books which are detailed below. We have also added a couple of other new books which you might have seen before, at Birmingham or Kensington, but are still new to most people.

Dictionary:
By popular request we have now produced a dictionary. This book contains entries for all 26 letters of the alphabet. Formatted in two columns it has at least 20 words for each letter. Bound in black linen it is finished with a blue dust jacket.

Pin Up Art of the 1940`s:
This book contains pin up pictures from the 1940`s. These iconic images found their way into every theatre of the war, painted onto aeroplanes, tanks and trucks they reminded the soldiers (wishful thinking perhaps!) of what they had left behind.

Bradshaw`s Railway Guide:
A real "must" for all Victorian houses and railway enthusiasts, this facsimile of an early Bradshaws contains the times of all trains running in Britain and therefore essential for all travellers.

And finally two new books for miniature Witches and Wizards

Book of Shadows (Gardnerian):
This miniature book contains an extract from the text of the Gardnerian Book of Shadows. In one sense, this is the central sacred text of the Wicca religion. However, it is important to point out that there is no 'official' Book of Shadows. Typically each coven has a hand-written copy of a Book of Shadows, sometimes in cypher or code, which reflects its own practices and knowledge.

Blank Book of Shadows:
Every witch has their own Book of Shadows in which they keep their spells and incantations. This book, with blank replica parchment pages allows you to keep yours safe until you need to use them.

Welcome to our new Blog

The team at Miniatura 2009

We would like to welcome you all to our new Blog site. Through this we will endeavour to keep you all right up to date with all our new books, which fairs we will be attending and any other things that might happen to us as we travel along the miniature road.
To those who are new to us we are, from left to right, Terry (head book binder and co-founder), Andrew, (No 1 son, artistic advisor and salesman extrordinaire!), Douglas (No 2 son, in charge of anything IT related), Dani (daunghter-in-law in waiting and general helper), and Anne (assistant book binder, and co-founder, who also keeps us all in our right place!).

The other team Arnhem 2009

We are also assisted by again from left to right, Chris (Elder brother and logistics man), and Christine (Sister-in-Law, assistant book binder and linguist). Also in the picture of course are Anne and Terry - looking somewhat odd as he had just gone down with Bells Palsy (if he did but know it!)

These then are the people who make up Dateman Books, a real family company so if you meet any of us at a fair you will know who we all are.

We are now getting ready to attend the fair at York followed the next weekend by Scottish Miniatura in Edinburgh, we hope to see some of you there.
